HOUSE ATHLETICS

This Thursday 27th July, will be the house athletics for Years 4 to 6 students at Duncan Mackinnon Reserve.  The house athletics enables the senior students to have a go at the full range of sports that are included in our district athletics.  Performances at these sports helps the staff put together the school athletics team.  Many thanks to Tracey Nelson for her organisation, and I look forward to spending some time there on the day to see our students competing for their houses. I know the students will show respect for each other on the day, and support all of their house members for their efforts. Let’s hope the weather is going to be fine on the day!

PARENT OPINION SURVEY

Each year the school conducts an opinion survey of 30 per cent of the school community.  Parents are randomly selected to participate and we use the information to inform and direct our future school planning and improvement.  If you are part of this random survey, you will receive a letter with a link to the survey, which is now online. If you do not have access to a computer, please come and see us at the office and we will organise a time for you to use a school computer. The survey is conducted anonymously. It will be open from Monday 7th August to Sunday 27th August 2017 and will take about 15 minutes to complete. We hope all those who receive the letter are able to complete the survey in the specified time.

STUDENT LED CONFERENCES

Please don’t forget to make your online booking for your child to show their work and progress so far this year. I am looking forward to meeting many parents next Tuesday 1st August and sharing in their journey.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECKS

There are new Child Safe Standards that the school is expected to follow and the school requires all parents participating in excursions and camps to have a WWCC. It is easy to log in and register for the check. As a volunteer, it is free. If you have registered and the school does not yet have a copy of your card or registration, please see the school office so we can update our register. The link below will give you further information and the process is simple and only takes a few weeks.

CARNIVAL HELP IS NEEDED

Although 18th November may seem a long way off for our school carnival, our committee is already hard at work. We are looking for donations and sponsorship, so if you know of, or have links to, a company or business that may be willing to help our school community, we would love to hear from you. It may be sponsorship and advertising; it may be donations of food for food stalls or materials for stalls and prizes etc. Any contacts would be greatly appreciated.

Please call the school office or email me on foster.lynne.m@edumail.vic.gov.au
