Weekly Awards System

Our K - 6 awards systems aim to recognise those things which students do well whether by their own standards or by the standards of the school. It is as much to do with growth and improvement as with achievement of pre-established standards. The weekly awards (that pre-covid were given at our whole school assembly) acknowledge a variety of behaviours at school.

K-2 Games Night

Last Friday our K-2 learners danced the night away at the annual K-2 games night. The children enjoyed dancing and playing many exciting games. Thank you to our wonderful P&F for providing everyone with a sausage sizzle and much need drink of cordial.

Kinder Sleepover

Last weekend our Kinder students participated in the annual 'Kinder Sleepover'. The children set up camp in the library before attending the K-2 games night. They enjoyed birthday cake and a movie before drifting off to sleep beside their friends. In the morning they enjoyed eating breakfast in the staff room. They even had enough time for a treasure hunt before heading home! A BIG thank you to Mrs Drogemuller and Miss Lenton for volunteering to stay with Kinder, Miss Johnson and Mrs Schweitzer.

Year 6 Excursion - Lake Keepit

"On 16th November 2020 the long awaited trip to Lake Keepit began.

We stayed there for two days and one night in lodges that had bunk beds for us to sleep in.

When we got there we were introduced to our instructors, Scott and Jen, they would take us to all of our activities and lead us in what to do. After they talked to us about the safety rules, we went to get changed into our swimmers, ready to do a swimming test. This was to determine what we could and couldn’t do safely.

Afterwards, we went to lunch. Salad sandwiches were on the menu. Finally, the long awaited Commando course (mud run)! This was one of the most exciting events about Lake Keepit, getting to roll in mud and jump over haystacks. After the mud run we washed off the mud and made our way to the pool for some free time. Following another shower we had roast chicken for dinner.

Later it was a games night. We played a bunch of games with Pete, one of the instructors. One of our favourite games was BIF because you got to hit people with a noodle! Lights out was 9:30pm.

The next day we made our way to breakfast at 8:00am. Following breakfast was kayaking. This activity used up a lot of our arm strength, but it was worth it as we rowed to a tiny island and had fruit. Afterwards, we split into two groups and went to long ropes and archery. This brought us to the end of our excursion.

Overall, Lake Keepit provided us with great food and exciting activities, an experience I’ll never forget."
