2020 and 2021 School Fees

At School Council last month we confirmed the Essential Student Learning Items Fee for families for 2021. This fee is to provide class requisites (stationery, texts books, equipment etc) for your child to use daily in the classroom alongside all materials to participate in other programs (such as our Kitchen Garden program).

It is compulsory that all families make this payment.

Our proposed Essential Student Learning Items Fees in 2021 will be:

  • Foundation $235
  • Year 1 $115
  • Year 2 $80
  • Year 3 $130
  • Year 4 $0
  • Year 5 $0
  • Year 6 $40

You will notice that these fees are significantly less than charged in 2020.

Due to COVID-19 we have been unable to spend a large part of the Essential Student Learning Items Fees charged to families this year.

As we have been unable to attend excursions, welcome visiting incursions and programs such as gymnastics into school, each child has an amount that will be unspent.

The school will be carrying forward this amount as a credit to reduce the fees that we will be charging in 2021.

In addition, we have taken the decision not to charge a fee upfront to cover excursions, incursions and other activities during the year due to continued uncertainty over what 2021 will look like. Instead families will be charged for these activities on a 'pay as you go' basis.

For any families of Year 6 children (or who are leaving us this year for any other reason), we will offer a refund of this unspent amount.

Families will need to contact the office to arrange this refund or, alternatively, they may choose to ‘donate’ this credit as a voluntary contribution to SKiPPS.

Students arriving early

Whilst we are all very excited to be back at school and enjoying the warm weather this week, we have seen a large number of children arriving at school very early - sometimes up to an hour before classes begin.

A reminder that children should not be at school before 8:45am unless they are booked in with TheirCare.

School staff are not on-duty until 8:45am which means that early-arrivers are unable to be supervised if they arrive before this time.

We appreciate your support in helping your child to arrive at school at the correct time.

Basketball

With the relaxation of social restrictions, we have been approached by a number of basketball team managers and coaches who are keen to re-start before and after school training on school grounds.

Sadly, Education Department advice remains that all parents and non-essential visitors are unable to come onto school site at this time.

If and when this advice changes, we are really looking forward to welcoming the community back into school and for training to start as soon as possible.

Curriculum Day - Monday 16th

A reminder that students are not required at school this coming Monday (16th November) as we will be using our final curriculum day of the year.

Staff will be using this time to work together and analyse student assessment data to gain an accurate picture of how student learning has progressed in this most unusual of years.

They will use this understanding to write student reports which will be sent home in the final week of term.

Mangoes and Student Artwork

We would like to thank SKiPPS families for the amazing engagement with our 'Mango Fundraiser' and Crazy Camel Student Artwork fundraisers.

Orders for both have now closed and we anticipate delivery of fresh mangoes and the Crazy camel products in the first week of December.
