YEAR 12 FAREWELL

Danielle Vaughan - Assistant Principal

The farewell assembly for Year 12  celebrated the achievements and graduation of the class of 2020. All students received a Graduation Certificate and Dunkley Shield Award Certificate.

The Graduation Certificate is not the official confirmation that the students have completed the requirements of VCE or VCAL, but recognises the student’s effort, persistence and commitment in completing six years of secondary schooling.

This year the Dunkley Shield Award Certificates will be given to every Year 12 student for overcoming challenging circumstances and completing Year 12.

 

Encouragement Award 

This award recognises a student’s overall effort, consistency and school attendance. It is an acknowledgement of their rapid improvement on previous years and subsequent change in their approach to school. This student has embraced all aspects of VCAL and been a role model for others.  Congratulations -  Lachlan Harvey 

 

Innovation, Industry and Entrepreneur Award

This award recognises the fact that this student has inspired others. They have excelled in their VET program and work placements and shown a high degree of innovation. They have also shown strong communication and leadership skills and are on the path to success in their chosen career.

Excellence Award

This award recognises a student’s overall excellent attitude, effort and success in VCAL this year. Their quality of work and level of achievement at school and in the community has been outstanding.

VCAL Valedictorian 

The winner of this award has performed to an exemplary standard academically across all strands of VCAL, contributed to the College in a broad range of extra-curricular activities and set the standard in their cohort. 

The winner of this award receives a personalised trophy. Congratulations to the VCAL Valedictorian for 2020

Charli Rose Watson-Terrick

 

Proteads Award.

The winner of the Proteads Award has performed to an excellent standard academically, and has been involved with sport as well as having an active role in student leadership. This student is a wonderful role model to their peers and the younger students.

The winner of this award will receive a glass trophy.  The 2020 Proteads winner is -Samantha Howlett

 

The Australian Defence Force Long Tan Leadership & Team work Award

This award recognises the achievements of young people who have demonstrated outstanding qualities of Leadership and Teamwork within our school and the wider community.  Leadership and teamwork is underpinned by qualities such as supporting others and doing the best you can - values the ADF shares with the broader community.

This award recognises a student for their exemplary demonstration of these values and for great promise in becoming one of tomorrow’s leaders. The winner of this award and recipient of a certificate and a cheque for $550 is - Trinity Joseph

 

The Australian Defence Force Future Innovators Award

This award is encouraging the next generation of innovators, critical thinkers and problem solvers – bright Australian students who are succeeding in STEM .

(Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths)

The award is a cash prize that encourages a Year 12 student in their STEM pursuits, and recognises their innovative talents.

Caltex Best All Rounder Award

Caltex suggests that the recipient of this award should achieve scholastically across a range of subjects, willing to help others, personal conduct exemplary at all times, represents the school without necessarily being a champion, is a role model for other students, participates in school community activities and participates enthusiastically in the life of the school.

The winner of this award and recipient of a certificate, letter of congratulations from the Managing Director and CEO of Caltex Australia and commemorative medallion is  Paige McKenzie

 

Senior Teachers Awards

This is awarded to two Year 12 students who teachers feel embody the positive attributes of enthusiasm, respect, responsibility, conscientiousness and compassion.

The winners of this award receive a personalised trophy.

VCE Valedictorian

The winner of this award has performed to an exemplary standard academically across all of their VCE subjects, contributed to the college in a broad range of activities and set the standard in their cohort.

Ron Barron Award

The Art Acquisitive Award commenced in 1998 in recognition of outstanding artistic ability, effort and creativity. The winner of this award receives $300 from the School with the winning work becoming a permanent part of the MESC gallery of student work.
