Year 12 Farewell

The Year 12 students finished on Thursday, 29 October, with the annual character dress up event. The students presented their own awards to staff and students and paraded around the school to the cheering and applause of the whole school community. They exited the school under a guard of honour. We are reminded of the respect that a guard of honour, or lap of honour, can provide in the way that the Richmond Tigers stood with the Geelong Cats to acknowledge the career of Gary Ablett. Not only did they join as one, but the Tigers also hid their premiership medals during the guard of honour as a sign of respect. It was not the moment to be Premiers, but to be colleagues.

We are extremely proud of their continued dedication to completing the year against the effects that COVID-19 created.  The resilience they have shown has been extraordinary and their willingness to overcome such adversity is to be admired.

Congratulations to you all! We wish you all the best in your exams and in your endeavours, post school.

Stay tuned for information about the arrangements for the Graduation that will be held in some shape or form on Tuesday, 1 December.

Progress Reports

Teachers are currently completing the next round of Progress Reports. These reports will include all elements, including attendance and academic progress and will be available on compass after November 3.

Communication between parents and student managers may be required to discuss improvement strategies.

Students who are unwell at school

Parents and carers are reminded that if their child is unwell or sick at home, please do not send them to school. This creates unnecessary stress on the students and pressure on staff and resources if there are multiple students requiring first aid services at the same time.

Students must stay at home until symptoms have cleared.

COVID testing is recommended for related symptoms - fever, sore throat, chills and sweats, runny nose, etc.

A document explaining the correct approach to managing unwell students was posted on Compass on Wednesday, 28 October.

If a student becomes unwell at school, they must be collected immediately after parents/carers are contacted. In some cases, emergency contacts may be contacted to assist students to leave school as soon as possible.
