Senior Years

Year 12 Formal!
It had felt like an eternity, but the day finally arrived! After being postponed for 187 days, 22 hours and 57 minutes, the class of 2020 arrived in style to celebrate at their Senior Formal. Students arrived in limousines, Ubers, taxis and even on scooters, greeted by personal escorts Mr Willsmore and Mr Keller who shielded students from the weather as they entered the Pavilion.
The Ballroom was decorated beautifully, in the theme of Glamour Garden, with a white floral photo wall and rustic wooden centre pieces on each table.
The ladies looked stunning and elegant, in beautiful gowns accentuated with diamantes and sequins. The gentlemen were dashing in their suits, with cropped pants being the fashion statement of the night! The evening began with brief speeches from Mr Wooldridge, Ms Vogt and captains Amelia and Paul before a delicious meal of either Filet Mignon or Mediterranean Chicken. Miss deLacy and Mrs Ackerley presented an amazing speech highlighting the jokes, friendships and memories formed by the class of 2020.
The Formal Committee presented the awards voted on by the entire cohort, such as ‘Best Dressed’, ‘Miss Congeniality’ and ‘Most Sarcastic’ which caused much laughter and applause. The DJ then hit the decks, playing a mix of favourites and dance hits which got us all dancing and singing along. The night ended all too soon, but the Class of 2020 left with incredible memories that will last a lifetime.
We would like to thank the entire Formal Committee for all of the hard work they put into planning the Formal (twice!) and the staff who attended the evening. While parents couldn’t attend due to current restrictions, the Class of 2020 would like to take this opportunity to extend their thanks and appreciation to their parents and families for their support and encouragement throughout this year and our entire high school journey.

Student Leadership 2021
Recently many Year 11 students applied for Captain positions for 2021. We would like to acknowledge all of the applicants for showing great courage, conviction and commitment by completing an application, participating in an interview process and presenting a speech to the College cohort. Their passion to serve the College as a leader was confidently and clearly expressed throughout the process. The students and staff of Endeavour College will be blessed to have such inspiring and diverse leadership in 2021.
Now that the leadership of the College has been ceremoniously passed to the Year 11s at the Year 12 final assembly, we would like to congratulate the following students for their successful appointments to the Student Executive.
College Captains:
Joel Davidson and Prianka Govender
Student Action Team Captains:
Charity and Service Enrichment
Massimo Vorrasi
Media, Communication and Event Promotion Chi Bao Luong
Spiritual and Community Building
Portia de Lacy
We now encourage Year 11 students to consider applying for co-curricular and Village leadership positions. All of these leadership positions provide important opportunities for student agency in an area of passion. Students can have great impact by assuming more responsibility and sharing their gifts and talents.
It is important to remember, however, that all students are role models, can have influence and inspire others but it is often the Year 12 cohort who have the greatest impact on the College culture. This is very true for students who are successful in attaining formal positions but also for the entire cohort who are encouraged to embrace the inherent leadership of being a Year 12 student and excel throughout the year to leave a positive and lasting impression.

Year 11 Camp
The Year 11 cohort travelled to Victor Harbor in the last week of Term 3 to undertake their Emerging Leaders Camp. The camp was held over 3 days and allowed the students to engage in a number of activities which aimed at strengthening relationships between peers and help students understand their own leadership potential.
Some highlights of the camp included a bakery lunch at Goolwa, provided by the Goolwa Bakery, followed by a ride on the Cockle Train to our destination of Victor Harbor. Students attended a private movie screening at the Victa Cinema’s, played Lawn Bowls with private instruction from local club members and played a round of Mini Golf.
On the second day of the camp, students undertook a number of leadership activities where they were challenged to act cooperatively and communicate with each other while completing the Spiders Web and A-Frame challenges. Students were also required to think more broadly about how leadership can be shown through the way we use our own God given gifts and abilities to help and serve others in our community. The Big Issue classroom provided us with an online webinar, delivering their message of how marginalisation affects people and the impact of homelessness. Students were encouraged to reflect on how each person has the capacity to support someone in need.
The weather across the three days proved challenging with cold winds and heavy down pours scattered throughout. The students remained positive during the camp and enjoyed having the time at the end of the term to be with their friends. We would like to thank Open Light Campsite for their welcoming hospitality and Genesis Coachlines for providing us with safe and reliable transport over the period of the camp.
