Cyberbullying

With the increased use of personal devices throughout remote learning and potential for the modification of home expectations around technology use during this time, it's worth remembering our responsibilities as parents and carers of our children with technologies. The best way to protect your children from cyberbullying is to maintain lines of communication as a family and to stay informed of current trends and strategies for appropriate online behaviour and responses.

Check out the e-safety website for useful advice and strategies for dealing with issues of cyberbullying at home.

"Online bullying can have a devastating impact on young people, whose online life is a key part of their identity and how they interact socially.

Cyberbullying behaviour takes many forms, such as sending abusive messages, hurtful images or videos, nasty online gossip, excluding or humiliating others, or creating fake accounts in someone’s name to trick or humiliate them.

Targeted advice is also available for kids, young people or adults who may be experiencing online abuse."

Chromebook Purchasing for Year 3, 2021 (reminder)

LWT has informed us that the stock for the HP Chromebooks is very low, so they have changed the model to the Lenovo 100e. Essentially, there is really no difference between the two models from the user point of view and each device is offered at the same price point. As always, parents are free to purchase Chromebooks independently of the school, so long as they are indeed Chromebooks and Google Management Licences are purchased from the school (a cost of approx $40).

The purchasing portal will close on Friday 4th Dec to allow maximum time for delivery to the school. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions by contacting Ben Sandison via email or at the school gate.
