Principal's Message

Liam Buckley

NAIDOC 2020 invites all Australians to embrace the true history of this country – a history which dates back thousands of generations.

It’s about seeing, hearing and learning the First Nations’ 65,000+ year history of this country - which is Australian history. We want all Australians to celebrate that we have the oldest continuing cultures on the planet and to recognise that our sovereignty was never ceded.

Always Was, Always Will Be.

REMEMBRANCE DAY

On Wednesday we gathered to pay our respects on Remembrance Day. We were very fortunate to have Major James McDonagh (Dad to Harry & Seb) who joined us for our service.

We would also like to acknowledge Gai Cooke for organising and facilitating the service.

Gai Cooke

(Thurs & Friday)

Year 5/6 Melinda Phyland

Ben Sandison

(Thurs & Friday)

Michael Brooks is retiring at the end of this year and we will celebrate his time at St Joseph's later in the term. Hannah Wood is taking a part - time role as she will be looking to study next year therefore she will be supporting Year 2 on Mondays and Foundation on Fridays.

Specialist Subjects remain the same for 2021 but will be extended from 40 minute lessons to 60 minute lessons to enable more effective learning and teaching time and planning time for class teachers.

Our priorities with class structure is twofold. We need to respond to the needs of our students academically - considering the year that we have had and the impact that has had across the board with learning. We also need to move into  a structure that is more viable for future enrolments.

Survey

Last week a survey was shared with you regarding before and after school care. Please look at the Operoo that Cathy sent out last week as the results will be collated on Friday.
