Rugby Academy News

Last term we had the pleasure of taking 3 teams out to the NRL Gala Day. The U18 Boys smashed their way through to the State Finals, our Under 16 boys coming in second place and the U16 girls giving a massive effort despite injury.  Fantastic work from all involved, you represented our school with pride, supported each other throughout the day and we are really proud of your efforts. Also a big thank you to the parents who took the time to come along and support.

Although COVID-19 has changed our plans for this year slightly, we are embracing new opportunities for learning and personal development in regards to our physical, mental and social health.  The students in the ELITE Rugby Program have been competing to win the Fitness Bingo Challenge. With the prize being a set of brand new headphones,  the stakes are certainly high!

We are so impressed with your consistent effort throughout this term, which has had a large focus on Mental Health,  Analysing Game Play and participation in the student led Training Programs. We are loving watching your journey on Strava.

In addition to the school based fitness challenges, Rugby Victoria have launched the Rugby Victoria Academy Schools Challenges. This series of challenges are designed to keep the students of Rugby Vic's key rugby schools engaged and hopefully have some fun completing them. The Rugby Victoria School Challenges consist of fitness and skill based challenges that students can complete at home. We encourage students to film themselves completing the challenges and sending them into Rugby Victoria via Facebook and Instagram and we will verse other Academy Schools across Melbourne while we wait for contact sports to be resumed.

To all the students in the program, your positivity and engagement in the program has been awesome -  keep up the great work!
