VCAL Race Around Melbourne

The Year 12 VCAL students recently organised the ‘Race Around Melbourne’ assessment task in the CBD. They developed a series of challenges, clue sets, specific instructions and rules to follow. The activity was created for the Year 11 students and allowed everyone to experience the thrill of an ‘Amazing Race’ in their own city; travelling by train, tram and on foot. Competing in teams, competitors raced against the clock, deciphering clues and puzzles whilst navigating their way around Melbourne, visiting famous landmarks and locations.

RSPCA Donations for Dogs

As part of the VCAL course, the Year 11 students will be gathering dog-goods and non-perishable foods to donate to the RSPCA before the end of this year. This project is linked to WRS (Work Related Skills) and PDS (Personal Development Skills) subjects. Collections started on Tuesday 23 October and will end on Monday 12 November. All acceptable items will be collected at the College Administration Building (Reception) and the Senior School Office. We will accept clean second hand toys and new ones, leashes, collars, bowls, blankets, towels, dog beds, dry or canned food. Perishable foods will not be accepted. We hope to gather a large quantity, yet quality dog goods, to donate to the RSPCA on behalf of the Aitken College community.
