Open Evening - Tuesday 30 October 4.00pm to 7.00pm

Open Evening, Twilight Music Concert and the Art/Design Exhibition are coming up. I encourage families to attend – there will be a barbecue, coffee and ice-creams on sale.

Presentation Night

A reminder that Presentation Night is on Monday 10 December at 7.30pm at The Plenary, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. All students from Years 3 to 11 are expected to attend. Full details will be sent to all families later this term.

Fun Run

I have spoken at all Assemblies about the Fun Run. All students from Prep to Year 8 have brought home an information pack. This year’s Fun Run on Sunday 25 November will be a great family event, so get your family’s registration forms in.

Crossing Supervisor

A casual position will be available from the start of the 2019 school year for a crossing supervisor at the pedestrian crossing near the Gym. This role entails 1¼ hours work each morning and afternoon during school terms. If you are interested in applying for this position, please email an expression of interest to the Deputy Principal at kforward@aitkencollege.edu.au, outlining your suitability and any relevant experience for the role.

Charter Bus Services - Expressions of Interest for 2019

There is the possibility of limited vacancies on some Aitken College Chartered Services for 2019.  The current Craigieburn and Roxburgh Park runs have been re-structured to cover more areas.  The charter runs for 2019 will therefore be:

  • Beveridge / Craigieburn: Beveridge, Merrifield Estate, Mickleham, Craigieburn (West side of Aitken Boulevard)
  • Epping / Roxburgh Park:  Epping, Roxburgh Park (also including South Craigieburn)
  • Essendon / Airport West:  Essendon, Airport West, Tullamarine, Gowanbrae, Gladstone Park, Westmeadows, Attwood
  • Craigieburn East: Craigieburn (East side of Aitken Boulevard), Greenvale
  • Strathmore: Strathmore, Oak Park, Glenroy, Broadmeadows, Greenvale
  • Sunbury: Sunbury via Bulla, Greenvale

Traffic

Vehicles observed doing the wrong thing at Aitken recently have been:

  • TKE 965 - driving the wrong way during morning peak, parking in the loading zone and leaving vehicle, dropping off in the disabled zone, parking in the visitor parking to drop off, speeding.
  • 1GL 3FY – parking and dropping off in the loading zone
  • 1MX 6KB - speeding
  • 1AX 3IO - parking in the bus zone to drop off student during morning peak
  • AQJ 880 - driving the wrong way during morning peak, dropping off in the bus zone
  • LVRPL - driving the wrong way during morning peak
  • AUZ 379 - turning right onto Mickleham Road during signposted no right turn time
  • 1IS 9UO - driving the wrong way through the western car park
  • VRB 076 - driving the wrong way during morning peak
  • RTP 929 - driving the wrong way during morning peak, dropping off student in the disabled zone
  • XRE 124 - parking in the loading zone to drop off a student
