PERFORMING ARTS

Welcome to the end of term 1. There has been a lot happening within the Performing Arts areas over the last few weeks and I am so proud of the work that the students have undertaken.

Before we head into the holidays, I remind all students to take their instruments home to practice. The music storage areas will be open until 4pm on both campuses so students can come and collect their instruments.

SINGFEST

Congratulations to all the students who took part in the SEVR Singfest on Tuesday 28 March at Nossal High School. The day was conducted by Anne Marie Sharry who encouraged the students to develop great sound, beautiful harmonies and blend between the voices. Thank you to Blanka West for organising this event, and to Dmitry Serebrianik and James Morrissey for accompanying the students.

TOP CLASS - MUSIC

All VCE Music students attended the Top Class Music event on Wednesday 29 March. The Year 11 and 12 Music classes were lucky enough to experience parts of the 2022 students' incredible programs. The aim of these concerts is to inspire the students in developing their own programs for the end of year recitals. Thank you to Andrew Albanis for organising the event, and to Ben Browne for accompanying the students.

YEAR 12 THEATRE STUDIES

The Year 12 Theatre Studies students are now well into rehearsals for the student directed play “The Secret in the Wings” by Mary Zimmerman. This will be performed in early May as part of their studies for Unit 3. Tickets will be available soon and we are looking forward to seeing the work they are developing. Students take on all production roles including set, costume and lighting design.
