Principal's Report

With great enthusiasm, I welcome back our DPS families to the 2023 school year. To our new families, I welcome you with a warm reception to the Doncaster Primary School Community. I hope everyone enjoyed spending quality time with friends and family over the summer break. 

I feel privileged to lead our DPS community again as the Acting Principal for Term 1. I am looking forward to a successful year of learning. Our mantra of Care, Connection and Commitment will continue for 2023. We have had an excellent start to the year with students settling into their new grades. As I walk around the school every morning, I am delighted to see the smiling faces of our students. I am impressed with how many students greet me and wish me well for the day ahead. Our DPS students have such lovely manners! 

Our core purpose is to provide your children with an engaging learning environment that stretches and challenges their minds whilst simultaneously building their social and emotional resilience. The leadership team, teachers, education support and all staff at DPS are committed to this core purpose. The teachers work tirelessly week in and week out to plan, prepare, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of the learning programs to ensure that your children have the best opportunity to grow and develop. 

As principal, my job is cultivating optimal conditions where staff and students thrive. DPS is an outward-facing symbol in the community and we strive to ensure that our values of Determination, Pride and Success are visible in everything we do. I know I can speak for School Council when I say that we are committed to working together to achieve this outcome. 

I sincerely wish all of our DPS students a successful year of learning. I am confident that our Grade 6 Graduates are enjoying their transition to high school. We wish them all the best! A special shout out to those students that I taught in prep as seen in the photo above.

To our DPS families, I want to reinforce the importance of your role in the successful education of your children. Together we are better! Please remember that the teachers and leadership are here to work with you in the best interests of your children. Open and respectful communication is vital to ensuring the best possible outcomes for your children. We are looking forward to partnering with on you child's educational journey.
