Welcome to our new French assistant for this semester, Ms Clara Dumas. Clara hails from Bordeaux in France and will be assisting our VCE students with their conversation skills and joining other classes in each year level, to give them some access to authentic French language and culture.
Welcome back also to our Japanese assistant, Mirei Suzuki. Mirei san joined us last year in Term 2 and is continuing her stay at Frankston High School this year. VCE students are looking forward to working with Mirei san to develop their language skills in one-on-one conversation classes commencing Week 3 of this term.
Year 12 Families Meet And Greet
It was a pleasure to welcome many Year 12 families to the Senior Campus on Monday evening, 6 February, to enjoy a social BBQ and meet some key Year 12 staff for 2023. We conducted a Q&A panel whereby families posed questions to a panel consisting of Mr Andrew Batchelor (Principal), Ms Carla Caminiti (Head of Year 12), Mrs Mel Donegan (Mental Health Practitioner), Mrs Sharon Bourne (Career Practitioner – Year 12), Mr Brett Cook (Year 12 teacher and parent), Ms Georgie Long (Head of English and Literacy, and Year 12 English teacher). The themes of the questions that were asked and answered included:
- VTAC applications
- School supports to inspire positive study behaviours
- Supports in place for managing mental health and stress
- How to manage school, work, life, sport, social commitments
- University open days
- How the ATAR and study scores are calculated
- Exam and key dates
- What happens if you child misses a SAC or exam
- Recommendations for monitoring your child’s progress
