From the Principal

David Tapp

Dear Parents and Carers,

I would like to thank everyone for their support during the short lock down, our teachers worked extremely hard to provide a different curriculum delivery at such short notice. Our students have done a superb job with continuing their learning and supporting their friends during the Circuit Breaker. I would also like to share my appreciation of how well all of our parents supported their children during the Circuit Breaker. We have received a significant amount of positive feedback. It has been great to have everyone back even after a very short lock down our lovely staff all missed our students.

Today we will be sending out our COVID Policy and the information below. Please make sure that you read through the information below and the policy. If you have any questions, please contact the office. As a great community together we can ensure everyone stays safe.

There remain in place a number of arrangements to ensure the school environment remains safe for students, staff and parents.  If the Department of Education and Training advises schools of changes to the existing requirements we will advise families via Sentral. The arrangements going forward are as follows:

  • Parents are permitted on-site for drop off and pick up only.
  • Parents must not be on-site for more than 15 minutes. Please make your way out of the grounds by 9.00am and at 3.30pm.
  • Parents are not permitted in classrooms but can enter the office where we will be available to help you
  • Parents and carers must wear a mask when entering the office area and outside if you feel others are not adhering to social distancing
  • Students (including those over 12 years old) are not required to wear masks.
  • Please ensure your child returns tomorrow with all of the resources that were sent home Friday. Novels, take home readers, exercise books, pencil cases etc

Last night we had School Council and we discussed new sub committees and opportunities for parents to have input into the school. We now have a Buildings and Grounds Sub Committee, an Educational Policy Sub Committee and a Community Relations Sub Committee. At previous School Council meetings we went through the Annual Implementation Plan for 2021 – This year the plan is based around three state-wide areas of focus:

  • Learning catch up and extension
  • Happy, healthy active kids
  • Connected Schools

It’s been wonderful to see our Foundation students start to explore more of the yard at recess and lunch. It is a credit to the culture of the school when we have so many of our Seniors helping our Foundation students explore the yard and try new things.

Have a great week,

David Tapp
