iCreate Discovery Day

On Wednesday 10 March, Westall SC hosted 350 students from Clayton North, Westall, Huntingdale, Clarinda, Springvale Rise and Spring Parks Primary Schools for iCreate ‘Discovery’ workshops. Our iCreate students planned and delivered amazing workshops and the visiting staff and students provided glowing feedback at the end of the day. Well done and thank you to all iCreate teachers and students for creating such a welcoming and engaging environment for prospective Westall students!

Open Day 2021

Westall Secondary College will be hosting an Open Day on Tuesday 30 March from 2pm. This event will include:

  • Guided tours by our Student Leaders
  • Meet our Principal and staff
  • Student displays
  • Learning demonstrations

Monash Pre-service Teacher Partnership            

This Monday, a large group of 3rd Year pre-service teachers will commence a 10-day distributed day teaching placement. Each pre-service teacher will be mentored by one of our amazing teachers, so students can expect to have the opportunity of working with some new faces in classes from next week. 

 

By having a partnership with Monash University, we exclusively host their pre-service teacher placements, ensuring our teaching staff do not get bombarded by requests from universities all year around. The partnership also allows pre-service teachers to build their skills, their rapport with the school community and return to the College to complete further placements, and if the opportunity arises, apply for a job at the College. A great example is Ms Divinna Arasu, who undertook a 3rd-year placement in 2018, 4th-year placement in 2019 and successfully obtained a Maths/Science teaching position at the school for 2020.
