Acting Principal's Report

Welcome back to our Kilsyth Primary School Newsletter!

Last year, our school newsletter was put on hold as we communicated more regularly via email about changes affecting on-site learning. We are now returning to fortnightly newsletters, distributed on a Thursday or Friday. Should any changes to learning arrangements be made in the future, we will continue to email our school community to keep everyone informed.

Thank you to our whole school community - students, staff and parents - for your flexibility, kindness and support this year. We have shown yet again, that our school can adapt to changes and challenges with a sense of calm and community spirit. We couldn't be more proud of our students and their ability to learn from home at short notice.

COVID Restrictions

As we return to onsite learning, we thoroughly enjoy seeing our school community coming together. While we would love to be able to spend time chatting and get everything back to 'normal', we all need to keep in mind that there are still legal restrictions relating to social distancing and visitors to school.  Staff, visitors and parents must wear a face mask in all indoor spaces (unless teaching or exempt), and when not able to maintain 1.5m distance outdoors.

Please limit the time you are spending at school and make use of our Sentral Sign-In station at the front office, or the QR code displayed around the school, when spending longer than 15 minutes onsite.

We have staff on yard duty from 8.45am. Prior to 8.45am, students should be under the supervision of parents/carers. We cannot guarantee student safety in the yard when staff are not on duty. We understand this can be difficult for some families, so please get in touch if you would like to discuss Camp Australia options, or try to explore alternate before-school care arrangements.

Curriculum Day

Monday 1st Marchwill be a Curriculum Day for Kilsyth Primary School. School staff will be working with literacy expert Misty Adoniou, to develop our approach to teaching literacy with other schools in our local network. This will be a student-free day.
