Dear Parents

How quickly has the first week  gone!!!!!!!!

Preps

Last Friday all students in Prep started their schooling Journey. There was great excitement. I would like to warmly welcome our Preps to the St Bede's community; we hope that your time with us is positive and memorable. I would also like to express my sincere thanks to all parents / carers for their support in preparing their children for a smooth and positive transition  to school. The students are to be congratulated on the way they  enthusiastically engaged in their first day of school.

Our Prep students do not attend school on the following days for the month of February :

MACS  ( Melbourne Archdiocese of Catholic Schools)

As mentioned last year all Catholic schools across Melbourne are now administrated by MACS ( Melbourne Archdiocese of Catholic Schools). This has come about because of the recommendations from the Royal Commission. MACS officially replaced the Parish Priest as administrator of the school as of the 1st January.

With all change there are always some teething issues.  As of yesterday we have only just been able to roll over parent email addresses  into classes lists etc therefore preventing us from providing parents with the normal email communication prior to and after the commencement of school.  Thank you for your understanding with this matter

Commencement of  learning time.

Children arriving before 8.40am are encouraged to make their way to their classroom put their bag away and go outside to play ( part of being a Covid Safe School). At 8.40am the first bell will go for  the students to enter their classroom. At 8.45am the second bell will go for class to commence.  Students arriving after this time will be marked as late.

It is important that we have all students ready to commence learning at 8.45am

Where possible I ask that any appointments for your child are made after school hours. I know this can not always occur but where it can it allows the child to engage in the full day of learning.

Beginning of the Year Mass

Our Beginning of Year School mass will be held tomorrow at 9.00am  Unfortunately parents will be unable to attend. The presentation of  badges to our leaders will be videoed and be available to parents ASAP

Tuckshop

A reminder that tuckshop commences  tomorrow.

Parent Teacher Student goal setting meetings

The Parent Teacher Student goal settings meetings will be held next Tuesday.  This is a wonderful  opportunity to discuss your child's needs and commence building a strong relationship with your child's classroom teacher for the year. The office has sent out the link so that you can make your booking. If there are any issues please contact Chris in the office. If you can not attend on Tuesday please contact your classroom teacher.

Face Masks

It has now been confirmed from MACS that any adults entering the school buildings are required to wear a face mask. A reminder that any parents who do enter the classrooms to drop off their child that you must be in and out within 15 minutes.  This will remain in place until further advised.
