Welcome to 2021 Grade 5/6 Staff
I am looking forward to teaching Grade 5 this year! I’m lucky to have got to know many of these students when they were in Grade 3 and next door to my class. It will be good to get to know everyone on a deeper level this year, especially those who have started at SMPS more recently.
When I’m not teaching or planning awesome things for us to do at school, I like riding my bike and listening to music. I grew up in Melbourne, in a suburb across the bay called Williamstown. I have two brothers – my older brother Tim and my younger brother Will.
During the holidays, I got a kitten. His name is Shepherd. I spent lots of time over the holidays getting him settled in. I hope he won’t be too mischievous while I'm at work!
Most of you will know me well: my name is Miss Jenny. I am really looking forward to 2021. You may already know that I am originally from England and have lived in Melbourne since 2018. I have been teaching at SMPS since we first opened. I love working at the school and have made lots of great friends here.
Over the last couple of years (except 2020), I have been busy exploring Australia and having lots of adventures. I have been to Uluru, the Great Barrier Reef and Rottnest Island, among other beautiful places. I feel incredibly lucky to be here.
I grew up in a small English village with my Mum, Lynne. I have no brothers or sisters but lots of friends and a cool Aunty called Aunty Kim, who used to live next door to me. I am also Welsh and have a love for the lush mountains and blustery coastlines of South Wales. I love to dance, run, do yoga and read books. I am happiest by the ocean. I also really enjoy cooking and baking for my friends at the weekend.
I am looking forward to getting to know you all and your interests over the coming year.
Hi SMPS Community,
My name is Miss Jo and I am teaching Grade 6 this year at South Melbourne Primary School. I am originally from the South Coast of England and taught in East London for 5 years before moving to Australia. I have lived in Melbourne for just over 2 years now and love living in our multicultural, vibrant city. In my spare time I enjoy reading, going to the beach and hiking. I like to stay active and get out into nature whenever I can.
I enjoy encouraging the students in my class to be kind, be themselves and try their best in whatever they do. In my class, we celebrate our differences and unique interests. We strive to be helpful and connected with everybody in our class and view ourselves as one team. I look forward to getting to know all of our families better as we move forward into 2021.
