Principal's Message

Welcome to 2021

Welcome Back, Everybody!

What a joy to see the children and their families at the front gate on Friday morning. It seems like only yesterday that we dismissed for the summer, but the staff longed to see your children's faces after the weeks away. Thanks for looking after your children so well over the break and for being patient with the entry on Friday during the very wet weather.

We had a lovely assembly with all of the students in Grades 1-6 in the gym. We were going to hold our gathering outside so we could welcome you as well, but the rain did not let us. We will welcome you properly soon with an assembly as soon we can.

Below are some of the photos from the assembly for you to enjoy. We welcomed new staff to the school by giving them a balloon on behalf of the community.

The new Grade Preps entered and had their first day as well and everyone was so excited to see them for the first time.

Welcome All Staff to 2021

This is the introductory edition where we list all of our staff in the following pages. Each person has written a simple hello to you all. Unfortunately, I did not get the chance to capture their photos, so you will have to go with their stories for now. We will publish photos in an upcoming edition so you can put the face to the name.

Information Next Page

Lots of important information can be found on the next page. Please read it carefully so you are up-to-date with everything you need to know.

iNewsletters are sent out each Saturday once every two weeks (the odd weeks). This is Edition 1 in Week 1, Edition 2 comes out at the start of Week 3 and so on.

On the weeks that the iNewsletter does not appear (the even weeks), I send out a short Newsfeed via Compass which contains the really important stuff happening in the upcoming week.

With iNewsletters and Newsfeeds, please keep up by reading them carefully. Compass is our portal for information. We only use Facebook for celebrations.

Entry to the School by Families

Unfortunately, due to the nature of our building (one main entrance), it is not possible to have parents enter the building due to COVID restrictions right now. Any parent onsite for 15 minutes and above needs to sign in and leave their details for contact tracing purposes. Our building has many levels and if we all came in at once, then we would most likely stay for 15 minutes or more and that would be impossible to manage.

Rest assured, we will allow parents in soon to see the learning spaces their kids are in each day. Please be patient as the rules for schools are changing quickly. As soon as it is safe, we will get you inside for a visit.

Parent Information Nights and Parent Teacher Interviews

In the coming weeks, we will be arranging some Parent Information Nights and Parent Teacher Interviews. The Information Nights will probably be run via WebEx to keep crowds down due to COVID and we hope to run the Parent Teacher Interviews individually if we can.

Stay tuned to Compass for information regarding these important meetings which will set up the year with relationship-building and program and expectation sharing with our families.
