Welcome

The last fortnight saw St Therese's Primary School Community farewell a few important people, now this week, we welcome a very important person, our new principal Mrs Felicity Broughton.

Mrs Broughton was previously at St John's in Frankston and now is our principal at St Therese. Please make her feel very welcome to our great and diverse school community. Introduce yourself and engage in dialogue.

We also say welcome to baby Brockman. Abigail Mae Brockman was born on June 8th weighing 3.21 kg and is 48cm long. Congratulations to Meghan and Matt on the arrival of their first born daughter.

Canteen

Please note: There will be no canteen on Wednesday 15th June.

Child Safety

Child safety is an ongoing priority at our school. As such, we are constantly reviewing and updating our procedures based upon DOSCEL policies and government legislation.

Aligning with this is Child Safety Week which is in September. In preparation for this event, schools in the Sale Diocese are promoting and participating in the annual Child Safety Week Competition whereby students learn about the importance of child safety and how they can make a difference.

Students are encouraged to design posters and develop videos that promote the Child Safe Standard 7 promoting the engagement and empowerment of children. The top entries will be used to produce resources for schools and parishes to promote child safety and Child Safety Week.

The theme for this year's Child Safety Week is:

Every child, in every community, needs a fair go and a chance to grow up safe and supported. What makes you feel safe and supported in your community, school or at home?

Please take the time to continue this work at home by discussing the importance of child safety with your children.
