F1 in Schools International Finals

Aqueous is an F1 in Schools team competing in the international finals, representing Australia.

Aqueous began as a collaborative team between Aeolus from Newington College and PerPetrol.  PerPetrol, a BMGS team that began in 2020 in Year 9 Design & Technology that then became the Australian national champions in 2021.  This team included Jayden Gibson, Casper Larkin, Bill Klein and Charlie Burgess.

Aqueous has been in the making for some time now, with pushbacks of submission due to an unpredictable few years of COVID. Also due to COVID, the team members could not meet and work in person. However, this changed last Wednesday, with Bill Klein, Nick Hayes and Charlie Burgess travelling to Newington College for a day. Whilst the day's central focus was filming their verbal presentation, it was also an opportunity for the team to work together in person for the first time. A day of connecting faces to the profile picture, delicious catering offered by Newington and Oporto delivered by Mr O’Keeffe, ended up being very successful, not only in filming the verbal presentation but providing the team members with the motivation they needed to complete the final push to submission.

All team members are ecstatic to work together again, moving forward to the Worlds finals judging next month.

We would like to thank the TAS department for all their tireless work in supporting our team over the last couple years, along with our patient and supportive parents.
