Flute Concert
Congratulations to the following students who all performed at the Flute Concert in the BMGS Recital Room on Monday night: Belinda Cunningham (Year 12), Eliza Huckel (Year 12), Layla Davis (Year 11), Oliver Drew (Year 11), Josie Howarth (Year 10), Evie Pritchard (Year 9), Frankie McNair (Year 9), Zia Mamo (Year 8), Amelie Emmerson (Year 7), Lizzie Nealon-Cook (Year 7), Georgia Kustra (Year 7) and Zarah Snedden (Year 7).
It was a very entertaining concert, in which each student performed two solo pieces. Their repertoire included jazz, pop, and movie themes, as well as classical pieces. Mrs Robyn Glindemann also performed a flute solo, before all students combined to perform as a Flute Ensemble.
The audience was impressed with the talent and standard of the concert, all due to the hard work and commitment of the students. Many thanks to the wonderful accompanist, Mrs Julie Cooney. Congratulations to all on a wonderful concert.
Assembly Performance
Thank you to Charlotte Evans for her performance of Allegro by Eberl, which provided an exciting opening for the final Assembly of Term 2.
Charlotte recently gained an A+ (Distinction) pass in her recent 6th Grade AMEB Practical piano examination. We congratulate Charlotte on this exceptional and well deserved achievement.
JMC Songwriting Competition
Win a recording, mixing and mastering session of your original song and a workshop for your class.
The JMC Songwriting competition invites students to submit a demo of an original song (that they’ve written individually or as a team) and the lyrics to the song in written form ( as a word document) .So what needs to be submitted?
- Demo of the original song in WAV or MP3 format (maximum 5 minutes in length)
- Lyrics sheet
- Completed submission form
Prizes include: Professional feedback consultation and recording, mixing and mastering session of your original song with JMC ACADEMY audio engineers in our recording studio and a 2-4 hour music workshop for your class at your school or at JMC Academy.
Applications close Monday, 31st October 2022.
