This term, as part of The Arts curriculum, all students in Kindergarten to Year 6 will be participating in weekly incursions as part of movement and dance programs provided by Make-a-Move and EduDance.
Make-a-Move for Kindergarten & Pre-Primary
The Kindergarten and Pre-Primary Make-a-Move program gives the students the opportunity to improvise and be a part of the creative process.
The program is flexible and links with the student-centred learning outcomes of the Early Years Learning Framework. Make-a-Move for Kindergarten and Pre-Primary is designed to improve student fundamental movement skills, as well as developing other working memory and coordination skills.
Through participation in the program students explore different movements and learn a simple dance that they can perform independently in the end of program show.
EduDance for Year 1 – Year 6
EduDance is a curriculum-based dance fitness program designed for primary school students. It focuses on physical fitness, dance confidence, developing self-esteem in students and teamwork. EduDance is fast paced and lots of fun, and the high-energy lessons contain age appropriate choreography and music. The program is primarily hip-hop based in style but also touches on the contemporary, Musical theatre and Jazz genres.
The program culminates in the end of term Showcase complete with thematic costumes and big smiles!
Please note that students are to wear their sport uniform on the day of their EduDance lesson this term as follows:
Tuesday – Year 4, 5 and 6
Friday – Year 3
