3/4 Lime with Ms Tamati

In 3/4 Lime we have been learning about several formal units of measurement. When investigating the litre, we held some 1 litre relay races. The children had to try and transport 1 litre of water from one container to another, simply by using a sponge. The teams did very well with this task, and collectively, all teams only lost 160ml of water onto the grass. The students also enjoyed working in groups to create a tower that was as close to 1 metre as they could. In Number, we have been comparing 3-, 4-, and 5-digit numbers with the greater than and less than symbols.

In Creative Arts, we have loved joining in with Stage 2 to build our 'City for Kids' buildings for the Orange Regional Art Gallery SPARKE project.

1/2 Blue and 1/2 Pink with Miss Midson, Miss Cato and Ms Englert

This term in Digital Technology, we have been excited to use Bee-Bot robots to explore sequencing, computational thinking, and the mathematical concepts of coordinates, distance, and location. Bee-Bots are so much fun that we're just buzzing with excitement!

Kerri Parkes Western Debating Challenge

This week, both primary debating teams competed in the second round of the Kerri Parkes Western Debating Challenge. Team A competed against Calare Public School and Team B competed against Millthorpe Public School. The topic was that school hours should start from 10am. Both teams skillfully rebutted the opposition's arguments and were victorious! The final round will be held in week 9; when both MCS teams compete against each other. Ms Valese and Miss Cato are exceptionally proud of the students' commitment and skills!

Integration Meetings with Ms Brown

On Friday the 3rd of June I had the pleasure of attending meetings to discuss the learning plans of many of our students. Each student who attends Molong Central School has a unique learning profile. We pride ourselves on having a reputation for outstanding inclusive practices with many students enrolled identifying as having neural diversity. There are a number of neural diverse diagnosis that we integrate seamlessly into our mainstream. Children who are recognised as autistic, have attention deficit hyperactive disorder, those that live with anxiety, dyslexia and dyspraxia; the list is extensive. Furthermore we have physical and medical challenges that our students require support with. Whilst meeting with the parents and carers of these children, I felt immense satisfaction at being able to build strong partnerships with these families and ensure that their children are smashing out their goals just like every other student. These mums, dads and carers have extra hurdles in their parenting world and I take my hat off to them all for their amazing dedication and commitment to the educational journey their children are on.

Currently Mrs Harris, Mrs Chown, Mrs Dwyer, Miss Carthew and Mrs Betts work alongside our classroom teachers as valued paraprofessionals led by Mrs Honeyman our Learning and Support Teacher. Furthermore Mrs Harbison, Mrs Somerville (Wellbeing Officer) and Mrs Bouffler (School Counsellor) are in the background providing extra supports. This level of support results in an inclusive and supportive environment that ensures all students can thrive.
