OGEA Team Building

By Annamarie Matthews and Brianna Chenevey

A team that works well together is more effective, more productive, more collaborative, and definitely more fun to work with. On June 5th,  Courtney Miller (School Psychologist), Becki Kimerer (Preschool Special Education Teacher, Baldwin), Kathy Verbera (Preschool Special Education Teacher, Baldwin), and Annamarie Matthews (Preschool Special Education Teacher, Baldwin) participated in the “Muddy Princess” outdoor 5K obstacle mud run at Joseph D. Grant Ranch Park. The women went to represent the Baldwin Preschool Special Education team as “Super SPED” and even wore superhero capes. The "Muddy Princess" is an inclusive and memorable event that emphasizes the importance of teamwork. The mud run included running, walking, crawling, climbing, sliding, balance, and plenty of laughter along the way. Annamarie Matthews shared, "We had so much fun connecting and de-stressing from all of the hard work we’ve been doing all year, and we became energized to continue the work that’s left to do until summer vacation begins!" This Super SPED team highly recommends doing an event like this to build connection and partnership. Besides, it’s super fun getting really messy with a lot of mud!
