We have been very busy in STEM with Prep to 2s exploring the Digital World, learning to ‘Think like Coders’ by being Problem Solvers, using their Imagination, showing a Growth Mindset by not giving up, working out the steps needed to get to their end goal, and fixing ‘bugs’ in code! 

Students have been exploring how we as people use our 5 ‘Senses’ and robots also have ‘Sensors’ that they use to navigate the world! We have thought about what other technology uses sensors such as automatic doors and the vehicle safety barriers on CityLink! 

In partnership with Transurban, we have been very lucky to have access to Ozobots, robots that use a sensor to read coloured lines as code! Students have been very creative, writing code, finding interesting bugs and problem solving! Thanks to Transurban all the year 1 and 2s receive a show-bag this week! 

We also would like to mention that from June 9-27 at 6am you can see 5 planets, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn all align in our sky! We may even be able to see Uranus on June 25th! Grab a pair of Binoculars or dust off your Telescope for a closer look! Here is a photo Ms Haylie took on June 6th of Venus, Mars and Jupiter!
