Teaching and Learning

End of Term 2

As we come to the end of another action packed term, it is an opportunity to reflect on the wonderful learning happening across the school. Throughout the term there has been a continued focus on reading through the implementation of a synthetic phonics approach in both the primary and secondary sections. Teachers have developed structures within daily reading routines where students are engaged in targeted lessons, games and activities that further develop their skills to make connections between the letters of written texts and the sounds of spoken language.

Year 11 and 12 students have been developing their employability skills whilst working towards achieving the learning outcomes for the Foundation VCAL or Vocational Pathways Certificate. Through our specialist classes, students across the school have participated in fantastic new learning and engaged in creating a range of individualised projects and group projects. Check out the Term 2 Specialists Newsletter posted on Compass for the full overview of each subject area.

Our students and staff are to be congratulated for their hard work, dedication and flexibility throughout the semester.

Semester 1 Student Reports

Semester 1 student reports will be available on Compass in the first week back in Term 3. We will be reporting on student achievement of the Semester 1 IEP goals. For most students who have consistently engaged with learning and their goals, there will be no change to this reporting cycle. In some cases, ongoing Covid related disruptions may have impacted delivery of subject specific content and IEP goal achievement, therefore a formal report comment is unable to be provided in these areas. If there are any questions around the Semester 1 reporting, please contact acting Assistant Principal, Karlie Gooding.
