It is difficult to believe that our students have now completed a full Semester of learning for 2022! This is a reminder to keep your eye on Compass for announcements regarding the Semester 1 Reports- they will be available by the end of the term.
Here are some tips for reading the reports alongside your child:
Semester Report feature | Questions to consider |
---|---|
Check the dot to see where your child is currently sitting academically | Is this in line with their expected Year Level? If not, what can we do to support the learning of your child in Semester 2? If so, how can they be extended? |
Look at the learning growth, which is represented on the reports by a dotted line. | How far has your child progressed? What has helped them get to where they are? |
Focus on the work habits which align with our Progress Reports | Has their been any significant improvement when you compare the Progress Report graphs to the Semester report? |
Look for the S or N on Senior School reports | Can you identify a pattern between subject areas? What are their strengths? What more can your child to do gain a Satisfactory result in their subjects? |
Next Semester, 7 of our Curriculum Leaders will be undertaking intensive training around Professional Learning Communities led by the Department of Education. This is an excellent opportunity for us to continue to strengthen our inquiry cycle work and improve student learning outcomes. We will be sharing some of our insights along the way!
