Independent Catholic Primary Schools Challenge 2022

Last Friday, some of the Year 5 and Year 6 boys competed in the ICPS Challenge 2022. We had a tough game against St Columbkille's, where we ended up tying 10-10. The other team was Stella Maris from Shellharbour and we played well winning 24-12. We needed to use good sportsmanship and we had an amazing time out of school playing footy with our mates. Everyone played well and tried their hardest. We would just like to say a big thank you to the coaches - Mr Matthews, Brent Grose and Adam Donovan for spending their own time to support and coach the team.

Athletics Carnival  and High Jump Years 2-6

Each year our students are provided with the opportunity to gain experience with high jump technique during class Physical Education lessons, along with shot put and discus techniques (using soft practice equipment).

Due to time constraints at the carnival, it is necessary for us to begin our high jump competition at school ahead of the Athletics Carnival. In doing this, we are able to determine the student finalists for the Championship High Jump event. Classes have begun these competitions and preparation.

If you have not completed the carnival consent and the 800m race nomination (for students who wish to compete), please note that these were due Monday, 13 June

Event marshalling sheets are entered and printed ahead of the day to ensure a smooth-running carnival. Your prompt support in assisting with the organisation is greatly appreciated.

We are requesting parent volunteers to act as officials on the day of the carnival. If you are able to assist, please indicate this in the questions tab on Compass.

We thank you in advance for taking the time to support students and staff with this event, we truly value your contributions.

Netball and Soccer Gala Day Cancellations

Catholic Education Office Wollongong's leadership team has made a decision that all gala days set for the near future are to be cancelled. The levels of staff and student absenteeism are at extreme levels so all non-pathway sport is suspended. Therefore, the soccer gala days set for Friday 29 July (including the backup on Friday 12 August) have been cancelled. This is unfortunate as the gala days, as you know, are so valued and enjoyed by our students in a time when exercise and activity are so important. It is, however, most important to consider the widespread nature of current illness and absenteeism and the predicted forecast that this pattern will continue over the next month or so.

Athletics, being a pathway event, will continue as planned with regional carnivals and selection trials as advertised on the CEDoW Sports web
