The former Wanganui Secondary College has been confirmed as the site for the development of a new Verney Road School. The Victorian Government had already earmarked $23.8 million for the project in the 2021-22 budget. Treasurer Tim Pallas visited the school yesterday to confirm that it would relocate to the vacant Wanganui site.
Shepparton's Verney Road School will find a new home at the former Wanganui Park Secondary School site after receiving a significant funding boost. The school, which provides learning and purposeful pathways for students from the age of three to 18 with mild to profound intellectual disabilities, has outgrown its current site.
Verney Road Specialist School will soon move to the former Whanganui secondary school site. The nearly $25 million redevelopment will help cater for the growing needs of the school, which has more than 220 students and 85 teachers.
