The former Wanganui Secondary College has been confirmed as the site for the development of a new Verney Road School. The Victorian Government had already earmarked $23.8 million for the project in the 2021-22 budget. Treasurer Tim Pallas visited the school yesterday to confirm that it would relocate to the vacant Wanganui site.

The school, which provides learning and purposeful pathways for students from the age of three to 18 with mild to profound intellectual disabilities, has outgrown its current site.
