WELCOME BACK

A warm welcome back to all of our students and families in the Junior School.  A special welcome to our new Year 7s and students that are joining us for the first time at Years 8 and 9. We hope your years at McKinnon will be filled with much success and friendship.

JUNIOR SCHOOL LEADERSHIP POSITIONS FOR 2014

Congratulations to the following students that been appointed as Junior School Leaders for 2014.  The successful leadership candidates were selected due to the quality of their written applications and personal interviews.  Many thanks to Ms Brown and Mr Hoskin for facilitating the selection process.  We hope all our Student Leaders have a fulfilling and rewarding experience in undertaking their leadership roles.

A REMINDER OF OUR UNIFORM POLICY FOR YEAR 7 and 8 SPORT

From this week forward, all students in Years 7 and 8 must wear their sport uniform to school on the days of their sport afternoons (Tuesday for Year 7, Friday for Year 8).  This policy was introduced last year and was found to be successful in reducing the amount of ‘lost property’ left in the change-rooms on Sport days, plus reducing the number of students missing buses for interschool competitions.  

Students not participating in Sport due to injury or illness must still come to school dressed in sport uniform.  This policy only applies to the major Sport afternoons.  Students are still required to be in regular school uniform on days of their individual class Physical Education lessons and change into their sport uniform at school.
