Dance Night

Congratulations to the 70 talented students who performed at our end of year Dance Night on Tuesday 16th October.

As always, the routines were inspiring, and showed their love for dance and performance. Dancers put a lot of hard work and time into preparing for their show like seasoned professionals. Thank you for being wonderful representatives of what dance is all about; creativity, artistry, teamwork, kindness and respect to your fellow dancers and beyond.

Bravo!

Music

On the 27th of October, the college Stage Band was invited to perform at the opening of the new Station St. bridge in Carrum. Keeping with the river theme, the band performed hits such as ‘Take me to the River’, ‘Cry me a river’, and ‘I can’t stand the Rain’. The weather was a delight and the band was very fortunate to be able to play on such a momentous occasion. A big thank you to the music staff who gave up their Saturday morning and to the students who played brilliantly and helped support the music program.

Junior Bandfest

On Wednesday 31st of October, selected members of the Year 7 Junior Band travelled to Frankston High School to participate in the 2018 SEVR Junior Bandfest. The purpose of this event is to give students the opportunity to rehearse and perform in large concert band settings and to work with different conductors and band members. This year, the service of expert conductor and educator, Luke James, was secured as guest clinician. The students had an excellent time rehearsing and recording songs as part of a ‘Supergroup’ made up of 140 students from Frankston High, Elizabeth Murdoch College, Kooweerup Secondary and more. Each of our students challenged themselves on the day by learning 6 new songs and will certainly benefit from the experience. Students will also receive a CD copy of the recording as a memento of the day. Well done to those were selected for the experience and we hope you had fun!
