Exciting news for fantastic creative young people in our wonderful community! We need your help to spread awareness of this recruitment – we have had plenty of feedback from young people that are “bored” or  saying “there is nothing to do in Mildura”. This is the perfect opportunity to create a difference!

Applications to join Mildura Rural City Council’s FReeZA Committee are now open for young people aged 12 to 24.

The Committee – which forms part of a Victorian State Government-funded initiative – will provide members with a chance to lead, plan and stage events for other young people in their community.

Members of the FReeZA Committee will design and deliver music events, dance parties and cultural events that provide a platform to elevate and celebrate emerging young artists.

Being a member of the FReeZA Committee, participants will have the opportunity to - 

• Learn from industry experts about designing and planning events
• Develop skills in event design and delivery, promotion, graphic design, artist booking and liaison, leadership, group facilitation, audio visual and sound production, set design and more
• Attend free training
• Meet like-minded young people
• Develop communication and public speaking skills 
• Grow leadership and advocacy skills
• Gain confidence working in a team
• Gain volunteering experience

Applications for 2022 are open online at FReeZA Committee (mildura.vic.gov.au) and will close at 5:00pm on Friday August 5.
