Foundation Class

Dinosaurs Invading the Junior Classes!

In Foundation to Grade 2 this term, students are comparing the past with the present in Integrated Studies, and what better way to get an understanding of this concept than discussing the past when there were dinosaurs roaming the earth?

We were lucky enough to have the Melbourne Museum come to our primary school to share an amazing new dinosaur program which has been supported by the Department of Education and Training Victoria.

The junior classes discovered a lot of interesting things about dinosaurs!  The students learned about the fascinating world of dinosaurs by engaging with dinosaur bones, fossils, replicas and stories that helped them go back in time to consider when dinosaurs existed on earth.

The museum’s hands-on interactive experience provided an incredibly rich learning environment for all the students.

Dinosaurs are a popular topic in the Prep class, so what better way to spark the students imagination and curiosity during their writing lessons than have them write about their favourite dinosaur after the visit from the dinosaur program? The Prep students wrote some amazing sentences about their favourite dinosaurs using some fantastic adjectives.
