DSC student plays for the VFL!
Congratulations to Year 12 student - Yu Yu Ashwin - for being awarded the opportunity to play for Collingwood VFL this month. Playing two games so far, sports reporters are impressed with his leg speed as a midfielder.
Ashwin’s ability to break forward dangerously was an eye-catching feature as the contest opened up.
Yu Yu has always demonstrated natural athletic ability, representing Doncaster Secondary College in state-level trials in Junior athletics. Outside of school, Yu Yu is wingman for the Oakleigh Chargers in the NAB League. Recently, he was awarded Player of the Week in Round 9 of the NAB League, recording 34 disposals, nine marks, eight inside 50s, and three goals. Only two Oakleigh Charger players have been able to do this. Ashwin is also a member of Collingwood’s Next Generation Academy.
We wish Yu Yu many more opportunities to play elite-level football and we look forward to seeing his development over the coming years.
