2023 Foundation Transition and Enrolments
Hello Robbie Mac Families!
On the 24th and 31st of August as well as the 14th of September the 2023 Foundation students will be involved in Transition. The children will visit our school to spend some time with Mr F, Ms Cheung and Ms Cassidy. Miss Walker and I are very excited to meet the new students!
Just a friendly reminder to any parents who are intending to enrolling their child in Foundation for 2023 to get your form in to the office so your child can join our transition days!

3/4’s Visit Royal Botanic Gardens
Yesterday the Year 3/4 classes visited the Royal Botanic Gardens and we loved it so much we decided to make our own garden bed for new beautiful plants. We learnt about native or Indigenous species, as well as other plants, exploring how they adapt and
survive.
The students in 3/4H have planted some beautiful fresh new plants in the 3/4 garden
beds outside Mrs Robinson’s classroom. They are native to Australia and we would like it if you don’t trample them. We would like to continue planting in the garden, so if you have any plant cuttings, contact Mrs Hall as 3/4H would love some donations.
5/6 Bystander Training
On Monday the grade 5/6s went to the hall for Bystander Training. We tuned in by doing an exercise where Aimy, from Respectful Relationships, would ask us a question and we would stand up if we had done it before. An example would be: Have you helped someone in a fight before? Aimy explained to us, that we are less likely to help someone when we are in a group. We learnt a lot about the importance of standing up in a group.
We then found out about the 4 different things to do if you encounter bulling. Direct, indirect, protocol and distract. Direct is where you fix the problem in the moment. Indirect is where you tell a teacher after the incident has happened. Protocol is where you set up consequences for when and if the incident happens. Distract is where you distract the person causing the issue to help calm them down.
After we finished our session in the hall we then went back to our classes. Aimy gave each class a different scenario where someone was verbally hurting someone. The 5/6 classes, then answered what we would do in each situation to be an upstander and not a bystander. We then came back to the hall where we shared what we would do in each of the specific situations. We learnt a lot in the bystander training sessions and are all looking forward being an upstander.

Update Student Records
Have you moved house, changed jobs or mobile numbers? Is so, please advise the office by email of the new details so student records can be updated. Remember to keep the school advised at all times so records are always correct.
LIBRARY BOOKS
PLEASE MAKE SURE THEY ARE RETURNED TO THE CORRECT LIBRARY
We are finding that a number of school library books are being incorrectly returned to local council libraries with books borrowed from that library.
Some of the libraries are very good and let us know that they have one or more of our library books and give us a date by which the books need to be picked up from them.
Any of the school’s library books incorrectly returned to a public library, need to be recovered from the public library by the borrower and returned to school.
When we receive one of these notifications from a council library, the school will let a parent of our student borrower know the name of the book/s, which council library and the date by which the books need to have been collected. Any of our library books not collected by the given date are disposed of by that library.
If a school library book is not recovered and returned to the school library, it will be treated as a lost book and an invoice for payment sent home with the student borrower for the cost of the book/s.
Our library books are a valuable resource for the children and ask your help in making sure that we do not loose any of them as they are costly to replace
