Acting Principal’s Message

Moana - Thanks and Production Update

Big thanks to Mr Kong and the team of parents who gave up time on Saturday to work on our sets for Moana. What were a bunch of mystery objects in the hall are now developing into a variety of expertly crafted nautical props!

A message went out this morning via Compass with important information regarding costumes for the show for each class/year level. Thanks in advance for helping our kids look their best on the stage!

Tickets are continuing to sell well - please get yours soon to avoid disappointment! Tickets can be booked at https://www.trybooking.com/events/landing?eid=915480&

I had a sneak peak at a rehearsal this morning and it's looking and sounding amazing!

Sincere thanks to Noel Jones Mitcham for the generous donation of our beautiful new Moana billboard on Birdwood Street, organised by RMPS parent, Dan Deltondo.

Year 3-6 House Athletics Thursday 4th August

Mr F is putting the final touches on preparations for Year 3-6 House Athletics next Thursday at Bill Sewart Athletics Track, Burwood.

This is always a fantastic day (if a bit chilly!) and we look forward to seeing lots of parent spectators out at the track.

If you are planning a visit to spectate, would you considering volunteering to help? Mr F is still seeking further helpers, so if you think you can lend a hand, please email Tim direct timothy.fearn-wannan@education.vic.gov.au

Cross-Country Congratulations!

Big congratulations to Sienna M from 56V who has done extraordinarily well in qualifying to represent the Victorian Cross-Country team at the National Championships, to be held in South Australia. We're very proud of your achievement Sienna, good luck!

2022 School Review Update

We have now been appointed an external reviewer for our Term 4 DET School Review. The review focuses on a range of student outcomes and sets up our School Strategic Plan, to cover the educational direction of the school between now and the next review in 2026.

Dates are currently being explored for the formal parts of the review, all to take place in the first part of Term 4.

The review panel will consist of the external reviewer, our DET Senior Educational Improvement Leader, two Principal-level 'Challenge Partners' from other schools, School Council President, Principal, Assistant Principal and staff leaders.

We're looking forward to reflecting on the accomplishments and areas of improvement from the last four years and to setting a really strong agenda to drive teaching, learning and wellbeing for our school for the next four years.

In preparation, a major focus of the Education Committee meeting (next Wednesday 6pm in the Staff Room) will be on some important policies and documentation as part of review preparation. As always, all are welcome to Education Committee meetings.

Student-Free day Friday 19th of August

A further reminder that Friday 19th of August will be a student-free day. TeamKids is available, please book with them directly.

COVID-19 Update

As shared via Compass, masks are now an expectation when indoors at school for all staff as well as students 8 years and above. Your assistance in encouraging this is appreciated.

We remain with manageable case numbers at Robbie Mac, but we are hearing of other local schools with extraordinarily high numbers of absent students and staff at present.

Please continue to keep children at home if unwell, whether COVID or otherwise.

Further info on the COVID19 page of this newsletter.

Kind regards,
