Tutoring

Dear Parents and Carers,

One of our top priorities for the year is to respond to the disruption of 2020 by providing tailored and targeted support to ‘catch up’ on learning that students may have missed through the new Tutor Learning Initiative. This program will be delivered by a range of qualified staff across English and Mathematics. The staff will assist students in the strategies and approaches required to achieve their learning needs.

The selection of students for this program have been thoroughly analysed from our data sets and this is a school-based decision. There are no set timeframes for how long each student will participate in the program as it depends on skill acquisition and retainment.

The tutoring will commence in Week 4 (starting 16/2/21) and parents/carers will be informed if your child is participating. We are grateful for the additional funding provided by the Department of Education and Training to allow us to fill the gaps in learning that some students may have encountered in 2020.

The program will be overseen by one of our Assistant Principals, Jamie Sharp. If you have any questions regarding your child’s involvement please email him on Jamie.mayhew-sharp@education.vic.gov.au

Regards,

Jamie Sharp
