Sport
Notable achievements
There have been two outstanding achievements recently:
Melissa Oloamanu has been selected to join the Collingwood Magpies Netball team in the National Super Netball League as a training partner. Mel is also in the Victorian Institute of Sport. This is an incredibly high achievement for a someone who is still at school and trying to balance her studies and netball.
Sport Captain, Trinity Skenderis was selected last week to play AFL for the Western Bulldogs VFL team. Trinity has not been playing AFL for very long and she is progressing very quickly through the various levels. The VFL is the 2nd highest ladies’ competition in Australia.

Girls senior relay – Chloe Rees, Layla Mahfouz, Jorja Tuttle and Eva Lavanda finished 5th
House Athletics
After a bit of an absence – (2019 washout, 2020 pandemic), it was wonderful to see a venue full of students competing to get their House some important points in the quest for the House Championship. On the day 3 records were broken – school Sport Captain, Trinity Skenderis broke the 18yrs 100m and 200m records and IIiseva Sovau broke the 17yrs Shot Put record.
Final results were:
1st – Pywheitjorrk 1103pts
2nd – Kororoit 938pts
3rd – Djerriwarrh 863pts
4th – Yangardook 853pts
Individual Championships
Rugby League 9’s State Finals
This was a tough day of competition. Virtually all of the opposition have specialist Academy programs in their schools which put us at a disadvantage from the start.
16yrs girls – lost to Narre Warren 16-12 (4 tries to 3) and lost to The Grange 16-24.
18yrs girls – lost to Hallam 12-24 and lost to Manor Lakes 0-8 in a game where we lost a third of the team through injury so we did well to even compete reasonably well.
AFL – Intermediate Boys
With the Year 10 students on work experience our Intermediate boys were outclassed by Bacchus Marsh and Kurunjang .
Volleyball – Intermediate Boys Region Finals
In a very strong and close competition the intermediate boys worked really well together defeating North Geelong, but found Altona and Suzanne Cory schools too strong.
