Meet our new IT Manager

A note from the IT Manager

I joined Melton Secondary College as the IT manager at the beginning of Term 2. My immediate focus is on improving the ICT Infrastructure, whilst delivering excellent service to the entire school community.  We naturally fear change and the uncertainty it brings, and after the past 12 months I think we've all had more than enough uncertainty in our lives. My main focus will be supporting my team to grow and develop into their roles, which in turn will support teachers in doing their job both efficiently and effectively, and students in achieving their best possible learning experience at MSC.

Beyond the immediate transition my focus will be on facilitating an advanced on site and cloud infrastructure setup. This will support each student to achieve their full potential, whilst maximising their use of the school IT resources. This is something we do well, but we can always improve on. Just as we ask our students to aspire to greater things, as a school we should also live out this value. For young minds to succeed they not only need work that is at the right level along with high quality instruction, but also a supportive digital environment and connectedness in school.

MSC is committed to providing a flourishing learning community and I’m proud to be a part of the team that supports and nurtures the diverse talents of our students. As IT Manager, I am committed to leading our IT team to achieve even better outcomes, and to work together with the community to provide the best possible digital learning environment for students. I aspire to provide our students with welcoming, inviting and flexible learning by improving classroom technology, which will enable teachers to adapt the environment to the lessons they are teaching at any given moment. I want our students to use ICT to enhance their critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and ultimately I want them to utilise these skills to recognise and make good judgments when using ICT outside of school.

I hope these aspirations inspire our community. My plan at MSC is to create, achieve and implement these ambitions through my guidance, leadership and vision.

If you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact me. I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
