Carmel Stutterd

Dear families,

Thank you for your support this term.

It has been a wonderful term and I am so pleased that we were able to get through a full term.

The staff and students are very tired as it has been a very busy term. I hope as a family you get time to relax and enjoy some down time.

Tutoring

The tutoring program will begin next term. I will send out an Operoo, explaining the process that the school has been through to identify students that will be on the program for the first 10 weeks.

St Louis' Cross Country

The students in grade 3-6 will be participating in the St Louis' Cross Country on Monday 26 April. Mr Mitchell will send out more information in week 1 of Term 2.

St Louis Feast Day

The school will be celebrating St Louis' Feast Day on Tuesday 27 April. It will be a casual clothes day. The students will celebrate mass at 9.15 am and will have a special lunch that day.

NAPLAN

The Grade 3 and 5 students will be participating in NAPLAN on Monday 10 May, Tuesday 11 May and Thursday 12 May. If you do not want your child to participate please email the office.

Wakakirri

After a challenging year last year St Louis is very excited to announce that we will be taking part in the Wakakirri Challenge for 2021. The Aboriginal word Wakakirri means ‘to dance a story’. Each year hundreds of schools across Australia create and perform Story-Dances for Wakakirri that reflect students’ thoughts, ideas and aspirations. A Wakakirri Story-Dance is a performance  that theatrically tells a story using a combination of dancing, creative movement and acting to pre-recorded music. St Louis will enrol to participate in the August in take and the performance will be recorded and sent in digitally. On Thursday the 25th of March over 100 students from years 4, 5 and 6 auditioned to be a part of our Wakakirri Challenge. Students performed a short routine to demonstrate their dance skills, coordination and enthusiasm. At the beginning of Term 2 the cast of students will be announced, as well as our theme and music choices. We look forward to a busy term of dancing, performing and demonstrating some of the amazing range of skills we have here at St Louis.

Emma Summers and Eliza Jones

I wish you all a very Happy and Holy Easter.

Please stay safe over the holidays and I look forward to seeing you all again on Monday 19 April.
