Support for families 

During lock down, it can be a very challenging time for student and families. We know it can be straining financially for parents of families who are unable to work during these times or getting back on your feet. 

Please see a list below of non-for-profit organisations that are here to support you. 

 

Kinfolk Catering supports emergency meal, and groceries for families who are struggling.

Ready Set support people experiencing economic hardship in job preparation and readiness. They provide work wear for individuals who are looking for work and help prepare for interviews with advice and coaching. 

‘We often think that getting a job is simple: find a vacancy, write a CV, and turn up to an interview. But for many Victorians, getting a job is not that simple.’- Ready Set

Share the Dignity support women by distributing women’s personal hygiene products when they are doing it tough.

Big Group Hug provide support to families with young children who are experiencing situational hardship or disadvantage with children’s supplies from clothing, nappies and wipes to prams, car seats, educational resources, and toys. 

‘Children dserve the best start in life, and communities have the ability and desire to give less fortunate families a big group hug and some practical support in their time of need.’
