VCE Media Excursion

VCE Media Excursion - The Project
On Monday night our class, the VCE Media students from both year 11 and 12, were able to see first-hand how a media production is created. We all travelled by bus into South Yarra to be audience members in the live filming of Network Ten’s The Project which many of us are fans of. Our class is currently studying the various specialist roles that are involved in producing film/tv and this excursion gave us the opportunity to see these roles in action. We all had an incredible time laughing and joking with the hosts. Peter Helliar even fooled some of us into believing that he had attended Wantirna College as his producer quickly googled random facts about the school and told them to Peter through an earpiece. Peter relayed these facts to us, which was hilarious. Steve Price was the guest personality on the evening when we were there and he and the other judges had heated, intelligent conflict. I personally enjoyed this the most and found it very interesting and engaging. I was fascinated to hear all their four sides of the issue and be informed as well as entertained. We all had a great afternoon and want to thank the crew at Network Ten and the hosts of The Project; Carrie, Steve, Peter and Waleed for letting us be a part of this real life media production for a night.
