Naplan

Individual NAPLAN Achievement Reports

In May the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) tests were administered to students in Years 7 and 9 throughout Australia.  Students’ skills were assessed in numeracy, reading, writing, spelling, punctuation and grammar. National tests provide information on how students are progressing and support improvements in teaching and learning.

You shoudl have received the individual NAPLAN Achievement Reports for all Year 7 and Year 9 students.

NAPLAN is a ‘snapshot’ of student performance on the days of the test. Your child will spend less than four hours, four times in their life completing NAPLAN over seven years of schooling. The results of NAPLAN do not define a child, but provide families and the College with valuable information in tracking a child’s progress in the areas of literacy and numeracy. The results of individual students as well as cohort specific data will be utilised by the College to support student learning and to provide us with information about the strengths and weaknesses in the teaching program.

If you have any questions regarding NAPLAN, please do not hesitate to contact Shane Kruger, Leader of Curriculum and Student Learning, at the College on 9881 7147 or kru@wantirnacollege.vic.edu.au
