Students had a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit Marngoneet’s Correctional Centre in Lara this week. Margoneet is a 394-bed medium security Australian prison located adjacent to maxium security Barwon Prison. As part of their Personal Development Skills, students had the opportunity to hear crimes of 5 inmates from their own mouths and ask questions about prison life. The meet and greet sessions provided information about prisoners daily routines, crimes, court case hearings, violence inside the jail, and recreational activities. I commend the behaviour and maturity of our students on what was one of the best excursions they have ever attended!
