2019: welcome one and all to an exciting year at the BK campus
The following are some of the important things you need to be reminded of before we get started:
(1) new school times
On certain days students doing the DP (Years 11 & 12) may have a Period 8 class, commencing at 3.15pm and finishing at 4pm.
(2) absences
Absences (including late arrivals and early departures) can be advised in one of three ways:
o direct Compass entry via your parent portal
o phoning the Absence Line 9817 6135
o emailing judy.o'donnell@preshil.vic.edu.au
Please give a reason for the absence, eg illness, medical/dental appointment. If your child has an Instrumental Music lesson on the day of their absence, please remember to mention this in your message so that sessional music staff can be notified, if you haven't already done so yourself.
(3) signing in/out through the office
Students who arrive after their first class begins or leave before their last class finishes need to sign in/out through the office.
It is preferable not to make external appointments for your child during the school day; however, if this is unavoidable, the School requires written parental permission allowing children in Years 7-10 to sign themselves out. This can be done by direct Compass entry via the parent portal, or by emailing judy.o'donnell@preshil.vic.edu.au
Sackville Street access
As Yarra Valley Water progresses with the installation along Sackville Street of new water pipes, please be advised that the stretch between John Street and Grange Road will be affected for the next eight weeks, subject to weather and ground conditions, so please allow extra time to reach your destination.
Preshil Student ID cards now PTV approved
Individual student photos taking place on Wednesday 20 February will automatically produce a student ID card.
We have recently been advised that this year Compass has increased its capability to enable these cards to be PTV approved, at no cost. This will alleviate the need to complete and submit a student concession application form and all it entails. Compass will endeavour to have these ID cards to us by 29 February when the current 2018 cards expire.
Lunch orders
CLASSROOM CUISINE
Our online lunch provider creates and delivers (to the front office) healthy and affordable school lunches. Available through the week, except Tuesdays, you can order online up until 8.30am on the day the lunch is required. A TWO COURSE lunch costs $8.95 and a THREE COURSE lunch costs $10.35.
