The Peppercorns 2020
What an exciting start it has been! It was lovely to see all the children returning to school with smiles on their faces, looking refreshed and ready to start.
We started the week by reflecting in our journals and sharing stories about what we got up to during the holidays. This was a great opportunity for children to get to know each other. As a group we also worked on creating an essential agreement, by specifying what we value in a learning environment. Each child had a voice in this process and we realised that we all share a common understanding around the value of respect and how we would like the classroom (our community) to function.
We hit the ground running on Friday by exploring the elements of a procedural text. We discovered that giving instructions is trickier than it seems. Ask your child to explain the drawing exercise we did in class and give it a go at home! It was great fun!
We are really looking forward to this year and all of the exciting times ahead!
