Grade 5/6

Term 2

Student Voice

At the beginning of this term, three Year 5 students had an idea. They chatted with their teacher who suggested putting their proposal down on paper before formally meeting with our new principal, Mr Webber. They then met with him and spoke about the concern they had; that there could be students coming to school who have not had breakfast. They proposed that the school should start a "Breakfast Club". With Mr Webber's endorsement and a donation from Biddick's Bakery, Breakfast Club began last week. Rice Bubbles and Corn Flakes, along with toast with butter and jam, were on the menu. Gluten-free and lactose-free options were also available. This proved to be quite a hit, with many students enjoying all that was on offer.

Thank you to the parents who have helped with cooking the toast and washing dishes.

Well done to the AMAZING students who had an idea, acted on it and are now putting the time into running Breakfast Club every Wednesday morning. Maddy, Layla & Emma, we are so proud of you for bringing this idea into fruition.
