Literacy

This week we have continued to concentrate on our personal learning goals during Writer's Workshop. The students in our class are working on one of the following:

• I can write the sounds I can hear in words.
• I can use spaces between my words.
• I can use fulls stops at the end of a sentence.
• I can use a capital letter at the start of a sentence.
• I can add detail to my writing.

The new digraph (two letters that make one sound) that we have learnt this week is:

'Cloud like a cow' - ou/ow, ou/ow, ou/ow.

Numeracy

In Maths, we have continued to look at time. This week we have talked about the months of the year. We are learning a months of the year song, which can take a bit of practice to remember, and we completed an activity about the month our birthday is in. The children were introduced to 'Minute Man' and 'Hour Girl'. We had a go at making times to the hour on analogue clocks.
